It’s the most beautiful time of the year — fall! The colorful leaves are scattered all over, the air is brisk, and autumn vibes are rolling in with the cooler weather. There’s no question that fall is such a peaceful and transitional time. But it’s also the time of year where people begin to move indoors and get ready to hunker down at home.
That means, it’s time to get your home fall-ready. For a lot of people that means breaking out the fall decor, setting out candles that smell of cinnamon or pumpkin, and whatever else your home needs to get you feeling extra cozy.
Here are 4 simple ways to get your home ready for fall:
- Break out the cozy bedding- Summer is for sleeping with the fan on and just a light blanket. When fall rolls around, it’s time to snuggle down. Usually, people feel overall a bit more tired in the cooler months. It’s okay to embrace the slower time of year. But you’ll want to make sure your bed is super comfortable, warm, and cozy for your best sleep.
- Choose decor with more earth tones – Fall makes us think of oranges, browns, yellows, and gold. They’re colors we don’t typically pull into our decor throughout the rest of the year, but from October till the end of December, we can’t get enough of this color palette. Try pulling it into your aesthetic with a new fall wreath, some fall flowers, or even new doormats.
- Give your fire place an upgrade – If you’re lucky enough to have a fireplace to keep you warm through the fall and winter, show it some love. Whether it needs to be cleaned thoroughly, or totally redecorated, pay attention to your fireplace. After all, it’s an important part of your home! Make it a centerpiece.
- Break out the slow cooker – Making hearty meals in your home is perfect for fall. So break out the slow cooker and cook a delicious stew or soup! Not only will it fill you up, it will make your home smell amazing and have you feeling totally fall-ready.
